Sickly Summer?
This is the time of year when the cold weather puts lots of us into holiday planning mode. Brochures a plenty, searching online for the best deals, our thoughts are usually summer ones once the festive season is over.
However before you rush and book the first bargain I would advise you to do your homework first. With so much information available online about hotels and resorts I'm amazed at how many travellers still visit places which have had repeated cases of food poisoning outbreaks and poor hygiene reports.
The Holiday Village Red Sea (Coral Sea Holiday Village) in Sharm El Sheikh is a prime example of this. Tour operators continue to send people here even though the number of people that have suffered with gastric problems after visiting the resort has continued for some time now.
Anybody that is in the business of providing food and drink has to abide by very strict hygiene standards. Obviously when there are reported cases of food poisoning from an establishment these standards are not being met. For the victim it can be costly when on holiday for the medical care and medicinal drugs needed. In addition to this the illness will mean the loss of quality holiday time for the individual concerned.
