Prescription Errors
Although prescription errors aren’t common they do occur. In order to make a claim for compensation it must be proven that you have suffered because of the error made by the doctor or chemist.
Some of the prescription errors doctors and chemists have made are:
- Chemist supplying incorrect dosage.
- Doctors failure to recognises symptoms being linked to known adverse side effects of a particular medication.
- Doctor not prescribing the medication normally used for the patients symptoms.
- Prescription of a medication that is contra-indicated in a particular patient, or for a particular medical condition.
- Medication prescribed for too long a period.
- Medication prescribed which patient is allergic to.
